The Kaivro nutrition module is built for real life. Type naturally, see instant macro breakdowns, build a personal food catalog that gets smarter over time.

Natural Language Input

Type how you think. Say "150g chicken breast with 200g rice" or "scrambled eggs with toast" — Kaivro's AI understands and calculates macros automatically. No searching through databases required.

EXAMPLE

You type: "150g chicken breast with 200g rice"

Kaivro returns:

  • Chicken breast (150g): 46g protein, 0g carbs, 5g fat — 231 kcal
  • White rice (200g): 5g protein, 56g carbs, 0.5g fat — 260 kcal

Total: 51g protein, 56g carbs, 5.5g fat — 491 kcal

Smart search hierarchy. Kaivro checks your personal catalog first (foods you've logged before), then our global database, then uses AI for anything new. Your frequently logged foods appear instantly.

Edit before saving. Review the parsed result, adjust quantities or macros if needed, then confirm. Kaivro learns from your corrections to improve accuracy over time.

Daily Macro Tracking

Set your targets. Define daily goals for calories, protein, carbs, and fats. Kaivro shows your progress throughout the day with clear visual indicators.

See where you stand. Dashboard shows consumed vs. target at a glance. Progress bars update in real-time as you log meals.

Meal organization. Meals are automatically categorized by time (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack) or you can override manually. Pre-workout and post-workout options available for gym-goers.

Day-specific overrides. Refeed day? Special occasion? Set different targets for specific days without changing your defaults.

Recipes

Save meals you make often. Create recipes with ingredients and instructions. Kaivro calculates total and per-serving macros automatically.

Build your cookbook. Browse all your recipes, search by name, see per-serving nutrition at a glance. Your personal food library grows over time.

Meal Planning

Plan your week. Weekly calendar view lets you assign meals to specific days and meal types. See expected macros for each day before you eat.

Use recipes or recent meals. Add planned meals from your recipe book or repeat recent logs. Copy successful days to other days quickly.

Generate shopping lists. One tap generates a shopping list from your planned meals. Duplicate ingredients are combined automatically. Check items off as you shop.

Log planned meals instantly. When it's time to eat, tap "Log this meal" on any planned item. Macros flow directly to your daily log.

Personal Food Catalog

Gets smarter with use. Every food you confirm is saved to your personal catalog. Next time, it appears instantly without AI processing.

Your foods, your macros. Store accurate values for foods you eat regularly. If the AI was slightly off, correct it once and Kaivro remembers.

Manual entry option. Know exact macros from a nutrition label? Enter them manually. No AI call needed, no daily limit consumed.

How It Works

Logging a Meal

  1. Tap Log Food on the dashboard
  2. Type what you ate naturally (e.g., "2 eggs with avocado toast")
  3. Review the parsed ingredients and macros
  4. Adjust quantities if needed
  5. Confirm to save

Creating a Recipe

  1. Go to Recipes in the Food tab
  2. Tap Create Recipe
  3. Add ingredients using natural language or search
  4. Set number of servings
  5. Add instructions (optional)
  6. Save — macros calculated automatically

Setting Macro Targets

  1. Go to Settings or Food module settings
  2. Enter daily calories, protein, carbs, fats
  3. Optionally let Kaivro suggest based on your goal
  4. Targets apply immediately to dashboard and logs

AI Accuracy & Transparency

Confidence indicators. Each parsed ingredient shows a confidence level (high, medium, low). Low confidence items are highlighted so you know to double-check.

Transparent reasoning. You see exactly what Kaivro understood. Original text preserved, parsed result shown side-by-side. No black box.
